AS9100 Approval Imminent

Following an intensive 5 day registration audit Norcott have been provisionally approved pending the closure of just a few minor non-compliances.

The next milestone is on the 20th March when BSI will revisit and hopefully close off the minor N/C’s and following this registration will be granted.

Norcott Technologies have sought approval to this demanding standard following requests from existing Clients but also to facilitate the Company’s further acquisition of high-technology business .

AS9100 adopts ISO9001 as its underpinning standard but is much more thorough in how it addresses the Electronics Technology Market with specific clauses focusing on Manufacturing, Supplier Performance and Company KPI’s.  The process has lead to many of Norcott’s existing systems receiving a complete review and re-engineering with the result that improvements are now adopted Company wide.

Dave Forster (Quality Manager) and Scott Hilton (Quality Engineer) have worked extremely hard over the past 12 months to fast-track the additional demands arising from the Aerospace standard but as Norcott had already incorporated many systems above the requirements of ISO9001 its implementation has been seamless.

A Bulletin will be issued after the re-audit has taken place.
