Norcott looks to build a bright future with investment in Apprenticeship Scheme…
Leading electronic design and manufacturing company, introduce new apprenticeship scheme to help develop their manufacturing centre of excellence.
Norcott Technologies now recognised as one of the UK’s leading specialist contract electronic manufactures (CEM), has announced that it has recently taken on four new apprentices at its Widnes based electronic design and manufacturing centre.
The new apprentices have already started a course based around the recognised NVQ Level 2, which is being run by the company in partnership with Halton Borough Council’s Riverside College.
The current apprentices have been selected to work in different parts of the business – Surface Mount, Test and IT. On completion of the training, it is hoped that the engineering apprentices will continue with other courses to further their training and education.
“Many high technology engineering based companies have started to experience a skills shortage”, comments Norcott Technologies Managing Director, Russ Magee.
“There was a real danger of a skills shortage in the future, so we decided to do something about it. I am delighted to say that all the apprentices we have are highly motivated and very enthusiastic. They get the chance to work across all our technology, manufacturing, and service disciplines, and in the long term we know that they will contribute significantly to help build our manufacturing centre of excellence in Widnes”.
